What is ReConvert?
ReConvert is a post-purchase funnel app for Shopify. You can offer additional products on the checkout page (Shopify Plus Only), on the thank you page, or as a whole new product sales page.
When a customer chooses to purchase a product that you offer, the item will be automatically added to their order without the customer having to re-enter their shipping or payment details making it super simple and seamless for them.
While at the time of this article, they only offer post-purchase cross-sell options, they will also be adding pre-purchase cross-sell options.
Why Should I Consider Adding a Post-Purchase Upsell
Post-purchase cross-sells are a great opportunity to increase your average order value. Because customers are so engaged with your brand the moment they place an order with you, post-purchase cross-sells and upsells convert at a rate of 3-15%
What to Sell as a Post-Purchase Cross-Sell
The perfect product(s) to include as a post-purchase cross-sell will depend a bit on your business and the products you sell. In most cases, you'll want to keep the item around 15-20% of the retail price of the original item the customer purchased.
You can also offer the customer the same product they just bought. If it's a consumable product, you can upsell them into a bundle. If they bought a dress in one color, you can offer them the same dress in another color.
Should You Offer a Discount in the Post-Purchase Cross-Sell?
Ultimately you should always test an offer without a discount to maintain your margin, but a discount can definitely increase the conversion of your offer. The great thing about offering a discount at this point in the journey the initial purchase should have already covered whatever it cost you to acquire them in the first place.
